West Ham are likely to have a busy summer after a frustrating season in front of goal.

The Irons failed to live up to the hype last time around, with the introduction of Graham Potter even failing to rejuvenate the side.

As a result, a turbulent summer is expected at the London Stadium with new forward options likely to be targeted, ready for the upcoming campaign.

This has now seen a deal agreed ahead of the summer window in the attacking area, which is likely to go down well in East London.

This has seen various options come and go, with Niclas Fullkrug being the latest in a long line of failed striker signings in claret and blue.

Potter has had to deal with the injury issues surrounding the German international, while also being without Michail Antonio after his injury.

It will certainly be interesting to see who the Hammers will bring in throughout the summer to hopefully find the back of the net on a regular basis.

Although no signing has been made at this stage, it appears that the Academy of Football has helped nurture another top talent in Elisha Sowunmi.

On 2 June, the Irons announced that 18-year-old had signed a first professional in E20 after agreeing terms ahead of the upcoming campaign.

There is no doubt that the versatile forward is one of the brightest talents that the E20 club has in an attacking sense right now.

The teen has maintained an excellent goalscoring record through the ranks from under-nine football to Premier League U18 this season.

It will certainly be interesting now to see if there is a true pathway into the first team for Sowunmi under Potter at the London Stadium.

The English head coach has already showcased his willingness to give youth a chance with Lewis Orford and Ollie Scarles, and could now do it with the forward moving into the new campaign.
