Liverpool star is not joining Bayer Leverkusen this summer

Liverpool look most likely set to execute multiple transfer deals with German side Bayer Leverkusen but all of them are not transfer-ins.

The Premier League title win has prompted the Merseyside giants to take active participation in the transfer market.

The PL champions’ motive this summer transfer window is completing necessary reinforcements and bolstering the squad to challenge for next season’s titles.

German club Bayer Leverkusen have emerged as the top destination for the Reds for transfer business.

However, Leverkusen are not solely the seller in this context.

Liverpool player rejects Bayer Leverkusen transfer opportunity

Although LFC have identified Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong as the most prominent targets this summer, they are also considering selling a few of their own.

According to multiple sources, Liverpool had tabled an offer for Wirtz which included €130m plus Harvey Elliott last week but it eventually got rejected.

Now that possibility is completely out of the window with the Reds preparing a mammoth-sized cash-only deal.

As per many sources, the English midfielder rejected the idea of joining Xabi Alonso’s latest-managed team as the German giants appointed the PL-failure Eric ten Hag as their new manager.

The young star, since joining the senior side of the club, has made 147 appearances across all competitions, accumulating 15 goals and 21 assists.

This season, the former Fulham man has featured in 28 games across competitions, bagged 5 goals and 3 assists, making most of his on-pitch endeavours off the bench (stats via Transfermarkt).

Liverpool’s very own ‘Duracell Bunny’ has shown signs of brilliance despite his limited game time. Hopefully, that will be changing soon in the next season under Arne Slot’s management.

What do you think Kopites, should Liverpool sell Harvey Elliott or focus on using him more effectively to get the most out of him?
