Stefon Diggs’ potential early Patriots debut just got a major boost

When the Patriots decided to sign receiver Stefon Diggs in free agency to a three-year deal, there were a lot of mixed reactions to the news. For the most part, there was excitement and relief that the team finally had a clear WR1, a position they had been lacking for several years. However, concerns remained regarding his readiness for the 2025 season after suffering a season-ending ACL injury last year.

Because he is expected to be Drake Maye's primary weapon, it would be ideal for Diggs to be ready by Week 1, which would mean he could work closely with the quarterback throughout the summer to establish the rapport and chemistry needed for success.

Fortunately, most concerns were [swiftly put away after a controversial week for Diggs](https://musketfire.com/mike-vrabel-s-confidence-in-new-patriots-addition-is-backfiring-badly-01jwehq78y51), as he returned to Foxboro on Monday to participate in one of the final days of OTAs.

Making his potential even better has been the consistent videos Diggs has posted to his social media in recent weeks, showing him working out away from the team. Although it would be more beneficial to see him practicing with his teammates, the fact that he's putting in the work elsewhere cannot go unrecognized, especially when OTAs are not mandatory.

Stefon Diggs continues to fuel rumors that he will be ready to go for the Patriots in Week 1

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Even before joining the Patriots, Diggs has made an effort to show his training to prove his recovery is far ahead of the norm for someone who only tore his ACL last October. From lifting heavy weights to running sprints, it has been impressive to see just how good he has looked despite suffering an injury later in the season.

He has [continued posting videos to his Instagram in recent weeks](https://musketfire.com/stefon-diggs-masterfully-ends-concern-about-readiness-for-patriots-2025-season-01jrgcghjfag), which has been widely covered since he's away from the team, and it's difficult to suggest he won't be ready to suit up in Week 1 against the Raiders.

And the content didn't stop there.

Diggs posted another video showing his training last week, showcasing his quickness and agility remaining strong despite concerns about his knee.

Although this is far from what it would take to play in an NFL game, it's an excellent sign of what's to come from Diggs and would seemingly alleviate concerns about his readiness for training camp next month.

The fact that he will presumably be able to get good time in working with Maye is a relief, and they will have plenty of opportunity to develop the relationship needed to be successful once the season begins.
