One of Manchester United’s young midfielders is becoming a hot prospect for several lower league sides this summer, with Stockport being the latest to enquire about the star.

As with any summer transfer season, United look to line up some loan deals to give their youngsters more experience of competitive football.

This season saw Ethan Wheatley go on loan to Walsall, Dan Gore head to Rotherham, Jack Kingdon to Rochdale, Joe Hugill to both Wigan and Carlisle, and Ethan Williams to Cheltenham to name but a few.

Whilst most of these youngsters will head back out on loan again to gain further experience, one of United’s talented young midfielders could be heading out for the first time.

The man in question stirring up the interest is 19-year-old Jack Moorhouse.

Stockport County make enquiries for Jack Moorhouse

Jack Moorhouse has been on the periphery of the senior squad, taking a spot on the bench this season to make up numbers for Ruben Amorim’s squad, struggling with injuries.

Despite making it to the bench on four occasions, Moorhouse is yet to make his competitive debut for United’s senior side.

The Manchester born midfielder joined the Red Devils for both legs of their Europa League quarter-final against Lyon, as well as Premier League fixtures against Tottenham and Arsenal.

Now, the 19-year-old might be set for a spell on loan in League one as Stockport County join Huddersfield Town in the clubs that have made enquiries for him, according to The Daily Mail.

As Moorhouse’s role in the senior squad has purely been to cover injuries, Amorim would have nothing to lose by sending the youngster out on loan, especially with Sekou Kone rising through the ranks.
