Marcus Rashford is determined to leave Old Trafford after his return from Aston Villa on loan.

The attacker’s Manchester United career seemingly came to an end last winter as his relationship with Ruben Amorim crashed, seeing the star dropped from the squad completely.

In January, Villa agreed a loan move for Rashford the rest of the season, including an option to buy for £40 million.

However, as Unai Emery’s squad failed to secure Champions League football and the funding that comes with it, a permanent move for Rashford wasn’t possible.

The United academy graduate earns £325,000 per week, a staggering sum which has put off any suitor getting close to him over the last few transfer windows.

At one point it looked as though United would have to pay the 27-year-old a £20 million pay-out just to take a pay cut to leave Old Trafford.

Now, a move may be on the cards for the United wantaway.

Marcus Rashford happy to wait for Barcelona

Marca journalist Luis Rojo has reported that Rashford would be happy to take a significant pay cut and wait until the end of the transfer window for Barcelona to make a move for him.

By waiting until the end of the summer, United would have to consider accepting a lower fee for their unwanted attacker, else have him sit on the bench for another season.

Barca’s sporting director Deco was recently seen meeting with Rashford’s agent in a hotel in the Spanish city, with talks going well.

It’s understood that both Deco and manager Hansi Flick are big fans of the England international who reclaimed his national team spot under Emery at Villa Park.

Rashford is still being valued at £40 million by United following their deal with Villa, however as The Villains never had priority signing rights, the price tag still remains for any interested party.
