Manchester United wantaway Jadon Sancho is headed back to Old Trafford after his year-long loan with Chelsea.

The winger sealed his move to Stamford Bridge on deadline day last summer, with The Blues agreeing a £25 million obligation to buy.

However, after mixed performances with five goals and ten assists in 41 games, Enzo Maresca decided its time to part ways.

It’s been reported that the main reason for the deal not going through lay with the winger refusing to take a pay cut from his salary of around £300,000 per week, with Chelsea refusing to meet his demands.

As such, the London-based side have opted to pay the £5 million penalty clause to get out of their obligatory buy of Sancho, with his time in London due to end when his contract ends at the end of the month.

As such, Sancho’s posted a farewell to his Chelsea fans on social media.

Farewell from Jadon Sancho and what next for the winger

Taking to Instagram, Sancho posted a highlight reel of his time with The Blues, captioning it: “Grateful for the experience. Big love to everyone at Chelsea who made me feel at home — teammates, staff and the fans.

Wishing the club all the best moving forward. Truly grateful, Thank you Blues”

Whilst Sancho is on his way back to Old Trafford, it’s unlikely that he’ll be staying with Manchester United long as the club try to find a new suitor for him.

It was previously reported that Bayer Leverkusen were looking to Sancho as a replacement for Florian Wirtz, however with Erik ten Hag at the helm, this is extremely unlikely to go ahead.

Already a trio of Saudi Pro League sides have emerged as potential suitors, with Al-Hilal, Al-Ittihad, and Al-Nassr all looking to the winger.

With his wages being a key factor, a Saudi club may be one of the only options for Sancho if he wants to keep up an astronomical wage.
