The Denver Broncos tight end room was not good a season ago.
That’s not exactly a secret, so one of their biggest splashes in free agency was adding Evan Engram. The former Giants and Jaguars tight end had 114 catches for nearly 1,000 yards with Jacksonville two seasons ago.
But after Engram, it’s the usual suspects with the likes of Adam Trautman, Lucas Krull and Nate Adkins. They’re all fine players, but fans still want to see a little more juice in that room.
Could Caden Prieskorn be a dark-horse candidate to add some offensive pop? Perhaps.
The Broncos signed the former Ole Miss and Memphis tight end on Tuesday and will give him a shot during OTAs, mandatory mini-camp and likely training camp to impress.
We've signed TE Caden Prieskorn.

Prieskorn played his first three seasons of college football with the Tigers before finishing his career in 2023 and 2024 with the Rebels. He was originally signed by the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent and now lands in Denver.
And what he did in his final three years of NCAA football is decently impressive. Prieskorn had 14 touchdowns to go along with nearly 1,500 yards and more than 100 catches. He played in 13 games for Ole Miss this past fall, catching 27 passes for 401 yards and three touchdowns. His biggest season was with Memphis in 2022, going for 48 catches, 602 yards and seven touchdowns.
Is Prieskorn going to make the Broncos 53-man roster? Probably not. That’s a tough task for an undrafted free agent. However, given Denver’s lack of depth at tight end, he at least has an outside chance and is a name to watch.
To make room for Prieskorn on the 90-man roster, the Broncos designated tight end Cole Fotheringham as waived / injured.
