LAKE FOREST, Ill. — As the Bears kicked off their three-day mandatory minicamp, which concludes offseason participation for veterans until training camp begins next month, one thing remained in focus: getting the little things right.
Ben Johnson's willingness to stop practice on a dime to correct small details in OTAs was a strike from the norm, at least in recent memory. And it's something his players have taken notice of, too.
Cole Kmet, when asked what differences he's noticed with the Johnson and the Bears' new coaching staff, said: "I think what sticks out is just how detail-oriented they are. You can feel that in the meetings, and they're relentless on the details."
