Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur Provides Update on Romeo Doubs

The last time Packer fans saw wide receiver Romeo Doubs, he was leaving the team’s first-round playoff loss to the Philadelphia Eagles with a concussion, the second of his season.

However, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur provided fans with a positive update in regards to No. 87’s recent practice performances.

Matt LaFleur Likes What He Sees From Romeo Doubs

While chatting with the Green Bay media today, here is what LaFleur had to say about how Doubs has performed of late in summer practice:

“He looks great out there. He’s come in and he’s just worked. Obviously he’s played a lot of snaps for us and had a lot of production.”

Doubs has been a key member of the team’s passing attack since he entered the league ahead of the 2022 season.

While he hasn’t come close to eclipsing 1,000 yards, he has been a very serviceable pass-catcher in LaFleur’s offense.

The former All-Mountain West receiver has recorded over 100 catches combined across the last two seasons and notched at least 600 receiving yards in both 2023 and 2024.

Looks For Romeo Doubs to Have His Best Season Yet in 2025

With Christian Watson sidelined with a torn ACL for presumably much of this upcoming season, a lot of the burden will fall on the shoulders of Doubs.

The former Nevada star will be called upon a lot by quarterback Jordan Love to make plays early and often each game.

Not only will it be up to him to carry the load, but it will be up to the likes of all-purpose star Jayden Reed, first-round rookie wide receiver Matthew Golden, third-round rookie Savion Williams, veteran slot man Dontayvion Wicks, and three-time Super Bowl champion Mecole Hardman.

If Watson can come back for a late-season push and stay healthy, that would be icing on the cake for one of the deeper wide receiver units in the league.

Of course, tight ends Tucker Kraft and Luke Musgrave can help out the passing game in a significant way, as well.

But at the end of the day, Packer fans should just be happy that Doubs is healthy and performing at a very high level.
