Miles Bridges still isn’t doing his public perception any favors.
The Charlotte Hornets forward Bridges went viral this week over the bold pronouncement that he made to his social media page. Bridges posted a message stating that the Hornets would be making the playoffs next year.
“Playoffs next year,” Bridges wrote along with a flexing emoji.
Playoffs next year

Needless to say, social media users were not at all convinced by Bridges’ proclamation. The veteran forward was promptly roasted over his seemingly baseless braggadocio. Take a look below.

Bridges and the Hornets obviously have a whole lot of work to do before they can even think about qualifying for the playoffs. Charlotte has been getting progressively worse record-wise ever since 2022, and they hit rock-bottom this season with a horrendous record of 19-63. Though the Hornets did earn play-in tournament berths in 2021 and 2022, they have not made the playoffs outright since the 2015-16 season (which is the longest active drought in the NBA right now).
On top of that, Bridges is one of the more unpopular players in the league at the moment given his history of legal issues, namely a 2022 domestic violence incident that led to him being arrested multiple times. Between the post and the player, it was the perfect storm for a roast session over social media.
