Viktor Gyokeres to Man United is still on the cards if Ineos repeat Matheus Cunha strategy for Bryan Mbeumo

Manchester United’s attack is being overhauled by Ineos this summer and Viktor Gyokeres could be the final piece of the puzzle.

Already this week, Manchester United have confirmed the arrival of Matheus Cunha from Wolves in a £62.5 million deal.

Following that, Bryan Mbeumo revealed he wants to join United over Premier League rivals Newcastle United.

Ineos are now working towards agreeing a fee for Bryan Mbeumo to add even more firepower to Ruben Amorim’s squad.

United will have a new-look front three next season, but a new striker is still needed and Viktor Gyokeres remains on the market.

Ineos can repeat £12.5m Matheus Cunha trick to free Viktor Gyokeres funds

Amorim is a huge admirer of Gyokeres from their time together at Sporting Lisbon, and United’s pathway is clearing up with Arsenal now in talks for Benjamin Sesko.

However, Gyokeres is expected to cost around £59m this summer which could be out of United’s £100m summer budget after the Matheus Cunha and Mbeumo deals.

However, United agreed to spread the cost of Cunha’s fee over multiple years, which will increase the remaining budget this summer.

If Ineos can agree a similar deal with Brentford where Mbeumo’s fee is spread over multiple years, it will leave plenty of budget for United to compete for Gyokeres’ signature.

Brentford want around £60m for Mbeumo – suggesting United should be paying a similar amount to the Cunha deal.

Man United double deal will help to convince Viktor Gyokeres

Earlier this season, Amorim sent a warning to Gyokeres explaining that United only want to pursue players that are ready to commit to the club’s long-term project rather than to play in European competitions.

The defeat in the Europa League final has made it harder for United to convince Gyokeres to move to Old Trafford, but the club’s quick start to the summer window could help.

Bringing in both Cunha and Mbeumo means that United have added plenty of creativity and goals to an otherwise struggling attack.

Rasmus Hojlund has been linked with an exit, and Gyokeres would know he would arrive as a clear first-choice striker in Manchester if he made the move to reunite with Amorim.

With Cunha and Mbeumo either side of him in a front three, Gyokeres can be confident about hitting the ground running at Old Trafford.
