Stunnin 37-goal message sent, Chelsea told sign£100M star, Boss makes mistake as Chelsea sign powerhouse

Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer talk from icchelseanews that we think you guys may have missed…

CHELSEA have been told they should have signed Man United target Victor Osimhen from Napoli instead of Liam Delap to solve their striker woes, as the Ipswich striker makes the move to London.

Nicolas Jackson works hard for Enzo Maresca and does put in the good performances every now and then, but many Blues fans were hoping that a new striker was going to make the move to London in the January window, and Osimhen was a player linked with a move to the Blues.

Obviously the club didnt even make a move for Osimhen and many believed we would make a move for the Nigerian star this summer, but ex-Chelsea stars Frank Leboeuf and William Gallas fear their former club picked the wrong striker and instead should have signed Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen, who came close to joining Chelsea last summer, scored 37 goals in 41 appearances during his loan spell at Galatasaray. He also boasted a superb record for Napoli before being exiled by Antonio Conte

Asked whether he was excited by the arrival of Delap at Chelsea, Leboeuf told ESPN: ‘I am, I am. I don’t know what’s going to happen with him but we need a striker, we desperately need a striker.

‘He’s a great, great player. Will he fit into Enzo Maresca’s system? Hopefully yes. He had a very good season. But I like Osimhen.’

Gallas, meanwhile, told Prime Casino: ‘***CHELSEA*** have been linked with a lot of different strikers. You’ve got the boy Liam Delap, he’s had a great debut season in the Premier League and he has a big future.

‘Other names like [Viktor] Gyokeres and [Benjamin] Sesko have been putting in good performances for their respective clubs on the continent.

‘But I would be signing Osimhen, all day long, everyday, twice on Sunday! I know what he can do, I know what he can bring to the CHELSEA squad.

‘I think he’d be perfect for the wingers there, because they aren’t the kind that just send in crosses. They come inside and shoot, or look for a pass.

CHELSEA TOLD SIGN MORGAN RODGERS

CHELSEA have been advised to send Jadon Sancho back to Man United by former Stamford Bridge defender Frank Sinclair, and told to make a move to sign Aston Villa star Morgan Rodgers.

Sancho scored five goals and made four assists during his loan spell at Chelsea after being banished by former Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag, and Chelsea agreed to sign Sancho permanently for around £25m when they signed him on loan from Manchester United last summer.

However, they are able to cancel the agreement by paying their Premier League rivals £5m in compensation and reports suggest that remains a possibility, as Manchester United determine whether to give him another shot or not.

The England international has a stunning tally of 15 goals and 14 assists in his 53 appearances for Aston Villa this season, so it’s unsurprising that he’s attracting interest from elsewhere.

The 22-year-old has proven himself worthy of joining most elite European clubs, as his performances have stepped up a level when he’s featured against top opposition. And Sinclair has opened up and claimed that we should make a move for Rodgers.

‘I like Morgan Rogers at Aston Villa, CHELSEA need back-up on the left-hand side of the pitch in the forward positions,’ Sinclair told the Daily Express

‘There is definite need to add more established quality to this young squad.

‘Chelsea got Champions League football, which was the aim, but now if they want to challenge for the Premier League then they need more strength in depth, more established players that can ensure Chelsea can be more consistent during the season.’

Aston Villa are at risk of losing Rogers this summer amid interest from elsewhere, with it suggested that they may need to sell valuable assets to avoid a breach of Profit and Sustainability regulations.

ARTETA MAKES DELAP MISTAKE

Mikel Arteta has been warned Arsenal have already made their first transfer mistake of the summer, after allowing Liam Delap to make the move to rivals CHELSEA .

With Arsenal suffering persistent issues in their attack, often opting for Mikel Merino to hold that number nine spot because of the injuries to Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus, Mikel Arteta has faced calls to add a proven goalscorer to his squad — but he failed to get a new striker in during the January window.

There has been some reports that RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko is the clubs top target, and there are a few other players linked with a move to the Emirates, Liam Delap was a player that was on the radar.

But due to a reasonable release clause, CHELSEA will pay just £30m to welcome Delap to Stamford Bridge and Arsenal have been told they made a major mistake not beating their London rivals to a deal.

‘I don’t understand how Arsenal didn’t snap him up,’ ex-EFL striker Adebayo Akinfenwa told talkSPORT. ‘I don’t understand how, when you need a striker and you’re looking at the transfer market, £30m is chump change in today’s market.

‘So when you’ve got somebody who, you’re talking about potential, they’re talking about being a Harry Kane replacement for England, about a proper No.9, I don’t understand how Arsenal didn’t buy.

‘As soon as Ipswich got relegated, they should have been in there. I think it’s a no-brainer.

‘I think he’s going to do well. I really do. I remember speaking to him when he was on loan at Stoke from Man City, and even back then, his whole demeanour, his aura, he was self-assured, confident, good stature.

‘He’s got that old-school element where you know you’re in for a game when you’re up against Delap. So I think he’s going to do well.

‘I think he’s got that Diego Costa sort of vibe about him, in regards to you’re going to know he’s there. So I think it’s very, very good business. I think £30m for Delap is very good business.’

‘People talk about him being signed to be part of the squad, but I think he’s bigger than that,’ Akinfenwa added.

‘I think he’ll be thinking in his head, “I’m going to be the guy, I’m going to go and play”. He’s going to be the main man.

‘When you look at it with how many games CHELSEA are going to play, he knows he’s going to get a lot of game time and it is for him to take his opportunity.

‘And then when you’ve got the calibre of players Chelsea have, he scored goals at Ipswich but how many more goals is he going to score when he’s playing with the likes of Cole Palmer and Reece James is putting balls into the box? He and Palmer played together in the youth team at City as well.

‘I think it’s a good signing. I just don’t understand how, and I’ll say Arsenal because they’re the ones who are front runners for a striker, I don’t understand how they weren’t pushing for him.’
