It’s a huge summer for Wolves – and there has now been a truly fascinating development at Molineux.
Wolves are facing a massive window, with Matheus Cunha having already left and Rayan Ait-Nouri expected to sign for Manchester City.
Pablo Sarabia is also leaving as a free agent, and Nelson Semedo could follow suit.
Wolves fans are hoping to see Fosun come through this summer and support Vitor Pereira, after his brilliant impact at Wolves in 2025.
But it remains to be seen how things pan out, and how much money the Portuguese will actually get to spend.
Ideally, Wolves will operate with clarity, precision and speed – the last thing Wolves need is chaos.
But there has been a development at the club which will now lead some fans to feel a little concerned.

It has been reported by Johnny Phillips that Wolves are now instigating an internal restructure.
MORE WOLVES STORIES
Apparently, Pereira will now be working under a different landscape at Wolves – and the big news is that Matt Hobbs – the sporting director at Molineux – now has an uncertain future. In fact, Phillips heads his piece by saying Hobbs’ exit is ‘likely’.
Phillips says that Wolves are dissolving the sporting director role, in favour of a move to a more fluid recruitment structure.
Hobbs will not be leading the recruitment drive – that honour will go to Matt Jackson, who is currently the head of professional football development.
Hobbs has been working on deals, but Jackson is now set to take over. Currently, Hobbs is not at Compton Park.
Jorge Mendes, Gestifute and Valdir Cardoso will all be playing a part in Wolves’ transfer business this summer. Pereira will be given the chance to ‘maximise his own relationships within global football’, which include Gestifute and Mendes.
Seemingly, the Wolves manager will now have a big say in recruitment.
Valdir Cardoso was at Compton a couple of months ago holding talks, presumably about the plans for the summer.
Uncertain times at Wolves with club needing a huge summer
This is a big development, and one that has left some supporters feeling a little concerned. But others are also excited.
Players are already leaving the club, and now, it looks as though Hobbs may depart as well.
And that would be a blow, because Hobbs has been the brains behind some great deals at Wolves since he became sporting director in 2022.
It remains to be seen if Wolves will be better off as a result of this restructure.
But one thing is for sure – Matt Jackson will be one very busy man as he negotiates player exits and arrivals.
Hopefully, this will work out and Wanderers can enter the 2025/26 campaign with a squad that can compete to finish in the top 10.
