Arsenal target Martin Zubimendi has broken his silence about his future.
The Spaniard has been on the radar of Premier League clubs for a long, long time. Zubimendi famously rejected Liverpool last summer, but the expectation is that he will be on the move this time.
Reports have claimed that Arsenal have all but wrapped up a deal to sign Zubimendi, but the 26-year-old publicly claimed on Tuesday that his future is undecided and he has no idea where he will end up.
Furthermore, amid Real Madrid’s interest in him, the Sociedad star claimed that Xabi Alonso is his idol and that he loved working with him in the past.
Arsenal fans have been concerned about the Zubimendi deal since, but there is some good news now.
It’s never ideal for any club to be involved in a transfer battle with Real Madrid.
The Galacticos often end up getting the players they want, which is why Arsenal fans have been worried that Martin Zubimendi will end up moving to the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Spain international’s comments on new Real Madrid boss Alonso, as well as his own future, have increased their concerns among the Arsenal supporters.
But, TBR Football can exclusively reveal that people at the Emirates are not at all worried about Zubimendi’s comments because they feel the deal is done.
TBR’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey said: “Arsenal are aware of the quotes from Zubimendi – but from what I am told, the deal is considered done at the Emirates.
“They are not worried, they knew these things might come up when Xabi Alonso was appointed.
“From what I am told, this is happening – it is a done deal. But obviously, the fans want to see that picture of him holding the shirt up, signed and sealed. Until that point, speculation is open to continue.”

Martin Zubimendi explains his Instagram Story after Arsenal medical rumours
There has been a lot of speculation about Zubimendi and Arsenal over the last few months.
The Gunners have been working on this deal for a long time – since even before Andrea Berta arrived. A lot of time has been invested in this deal, and everyone at the club is confident that it will be done.
But, there were some rumours recently suggesting that Zubimendi was undergoing his medical ahead of his move to the Emirates Stadium.
The midfielder debunked that rumour by sharing pictures of a beach on his Instagram Story. He has now explained why he did that.
“It’s an example of what surrounds football,” he said, as per Noticias de Gipuzkoa.
“I often wake up in the morning and read things I didn’t even know I’d done. That was a clear example. It’s true that I don’t take it too seriously, but anyway, I posted those photos to emphasise that it wasn’t exactly the reality of what was happening.”
