Gabriel Martinelli set to work under new manager as Arsenal summer transfer decision awaits

The chaos of the summer transfer window is ongoing with many Arsenal players’ futures up in the air while sporting director Andrea Berta works on bringing in fresh faces. Some players have already left for their holidays, while others are with their respective international teams ahead of their upcoming matches.

Arsenal have a host of players away on duty, including Gabriel Martinelli. The 23-year-old is now one of the senior figures at the club as one of the longest-serving stars of the group.

However, his future is not assured but football.london understands there have been discussions over a potential renewal. There is interest externally in the winger, and as the club want to invest in a wide player, it could be that Martinelli considers what his next step is more seriously.

He did speak ahead of the Champions League clash with PSG regarding his happiness at the side, even expressing love at being in north London. “It’s a dream to be here,” he said.

“Since I started to play football when I was five or six, I had this dream to play in the Champions League and to be in the semi-final. I love to be here, and the club has given me so much, not just on the pitch but off it as well. I’m really happy.”

While he makes up his mind, and the club do their work behind the scenes, Martinelli is now working with a new, very high-profile manager. Carlo Ancelotti has started work as Brazil’s new head coach.

Arsenal fans have already had some fun on social media as clips have shown Ancelotti looking over at the winger with his typical expression. Fans have suggested the sight of Martinelli might be bringing back nightmares of his goal in the Bernabeu, which knocked out his Real Madrid side.

Arsenal are sure to benefit from Martinelli and, when fit, Gabriel Magalhaes, gaining valuable experience with Ancelotti. Myles Lewis-Skelly certainly made an impact for Thomas Tuchel with England and Bukayo Saka is set to get his first taste of life under the new England boss with the Gunners eagerly awaiting their development benefits from such experienced coaches working with their players.
