The Phoenix Suns have lowered their asking price for Kevin Durant and are actively exploring trade options. They are focusing on acquiring a center and regaining draft control.
Kevin Durant is one of the two biggest names on the NBA summer market, alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo. With rumors swirling about his future, it appears the Phoenix Suns are open to moving the superstar forward—and at a lower price than before.

According to Kelly Iko of The Athletic, the Suns have been aggressive in exploring trade options for Durant and are aiming to regain control of their draft picks, starting with the No. 10 pick in next month's draft.
"Since the conclusion of the season, Houston has fielded several calls from Phoenix, who have since gradually lowered their asking price for Durant," Iko reported. "There is a price where the Rockets would be interested, but with a fear of breaking up their roster for a 36-year-old coming off injury, doubt remains over a deal materializing."
The Rockets aren't the only team potentially in the mix.
According to Sam Amico of Hoops Wire, the Atlanta Hawks have also discussed the possibility of pursuing Durant.
"One league source told Hoops Wire not to be surprised if the Hawks get involved in the Kevin Durant sweepstakes," Amico reported. "While they have yet to hire a president of basketball operations, team ownership has already inquired internally about Durant, sources said."

The Suns are also reportedly focusing on a key roster need as part of any trade.
Per Hardwood Paroxysm, Phoenix has made it clear that acquiring a center is a top priority in Durant discussions.
"The Suns have indicated to teams that center is at a premium for them in any KD talks," the report stated. "He might stick around, but their biggest interest is in solving the center position, which has been a disaster since moving on from [Deandre] Ayton."
Earlier reports from ESPN's Shams Charania and Brian Windhorst also indicated that Phoenix is expected to explore trade options for the 15-time All-Star this summer.
The San Antonio Spurs have been mentioned as another team to watch.
KD, who has one year remaining on his four-year, $194.2 million contract, is still considered one of the NBA's elite scorers. In his 17th season, he averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists.
