[Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has turned down a stunning £200 million offer](https://footballtoday.com/2025/06/03/bruno-fernandes-snubs-200m-al-hilal-offer-to-stay-at-manchester-united/) from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal.
The 30-year-old has revealed he rejected the lucrative move because he wants to continue playing in the major competitions.
Recent reports claimed Fernandes was seriously considering a deal to join Al-Hilal who were ready to give him an offer worth £200m over a three-year contract.
The Saudi giants were also prepared to launch a £100m bid for the experienced midfielder.
But Fernandes said the Red Devils did not need the money and wanted to keep him at Old Trafford.
The former Sporting Lisbon star discussed the matter with his family and informed Al-Hilal he would not be joining them.
He said: “Manchester United said they didn’t want to sell me. They said if I wanted to go I could, but they didn’t need the money. I spoke to coach Ruben Amorim who, throughout that period, he was pushing for me not to go.”
The midfielder also added: “I want to play at the highest possible level.
“I want to play major competitions. I know I still can and I want to be happy doing the thing I love the most.
“For better or worse, this is how I see football and I’m passionate about football and this is the decision I’ve made.”
United supporters would be delighted with the news as Fernandes has been easily their best player over the last few years.
He has scored 98 goals and registered 86 assists in 290 appearances since joining the club in January 2020, helping his side win the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup.
The Portugal international made 38 direct goal contributions last season, but they still recorded their worst league finish for half a century.
While United were not open to offers for Fernandes, they are actively looking to sell a host of other players to help fund their summer rebuild.
The Manchester titans want to offload Marcus Rashford, Antony and Jadon Sancho, while Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund could also be sold if the right offers arrive for the duo.
