Lisandro Martinez missed most of the season due to a knee injury, but that has not stopped clubs from showing an interest in the Manchester United centre-back.
It will be a summer of change as far as the Manchester United first team is concerned.
United have confirmed three exits already, with a possible 10 to follow depending on whether those players attract interest.
It is a chance for Ruben Amorim to get rid of the players he doesn’t want as part of his plans at Old Trafford to make room for recruits, who he hopes can bring success to the team in the future.
Amorim will be hoping his team suffers fewer injuries next season. The Red Devils were without several key players for chunks of the 2024/25 season, including Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw and Amad Diallo.
United need to ensure they keep their best players fit next season if they are to make any improvements.

Napoli eye move for Lisandro Martinez
After arriving at United from Ajax in 2022, Martinez quickly became a force in Erik ten Hag’s defence.
Martinez has been unfortunate with injuries, having had the last two seasons ruined by them.
More United News
The 27-year-old played 20 times in the Premier League this season and played 11 times in the 2023/24 campaign.
Reports now suggest the World Cup winner is attracting interest from Serie A champions Napoli.
According to Corriere dello Sport’s Campania newspaper, as cited by Sport Witness, Martinez is mentioned as one of Napoli’s targets to bolster Antonio Conte’s defence.
The report claims the centre-back is ‘followed’ and ‘liked’ by Napoli, and they are monitoring how he recovers from the serious knee injury that ended his campaign prematurely. That injury meant Martinez missed out on playing in a Europa League final.
Furthermore, Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna is understood to be an admirer of Martinez, after adding his name to the club’s transfer shortlist.
CN24 relayed a report from La Repubblica, which claims Martinez is one of Napoli’s options for the upcoming transfer window, with other targets also being considered.
There is nothing to suggest that United are trying to sell Martinez or that he will be ready to return ahead of next season.
It begs the question: how would Martinez complete a medical examination with a serious knee injury that required an operation?
Napoli seek repeat of Scott McTominay transfer
Napoli pulled off a masterstroke last summer when they signed Scott McTominay from United.
Although Ten Hag didn’t want to sell McTominay, the Scotland international left for Napoli and won the Serie A in his first season.

Scott McTominay stats for Napoli this season
That proves Napoli didn’t do too badly when they last dealt with United. It could inspire them to return for another United player this summer, after previously being linked with Garnacho.
