Report: Former Man Utd star Paul Pogba now offered to Champions League club who missed out on David De Gea

Former Manchester United star Paul Pogba is searching for a new club as the midfielder attempts to return to football.

The career of Paul Pogba will leave Manchester United fans more than a little divided.

On the one hand, Pogba won the World Cup with France and was one of the finest box-to-box midfielders we have ever seen through stretches of his career.

On the other, Pogba couldn’t find consistency and departed United under something of a cloud as he returned to Juventus in 2022.

Pogba was then hit with a doping ban, but his initial four-year suspension was eventually reduced to 18 months.

Now able to play again, Pogba has played down the suggestion of rejoining United but is looking for a new club this summer.

Monaco offered chance to sign Paul Pogba

A return to the Premier League would be a surprise, but Pogba may be eyeing France’s top flight as his next stop.

Outside of his time in the Le Havre ranks and his appearances for France, Pogba has yet to sample French football.

Foot Mercato now claim that Pogba has been offered to Monaco as they prepare for Champions League action.

Monaco finished third in Ligue 1 last season and will be in Europe’s top competition next term.

It’s claimed that Pogba is unlikely to join Marseille, but his representatives have offered him up to Monaco.

Monaco are in the market for a midfielder but are yet to respond to the idea of signing Pogba.

United lost the Europa League final and have missed out on Champions League football, but Pogba may yet be involved next season as Monaco weigh up a move.

Monaco recently missed out on David De Gea

Adi Hutter’s side have plenty to think about with Pogba, especially in terms of his time out of the game.

Pogba will hope to follow in the footsteps of David De Gea, who spent a year without a club after leaving United in 2023.

De Gea joined Fiorentina last summer and excelled in Serie A, performing as if he had never been away.

Monaco actually wanted to sign De Gea this summer, but the Spaniard has instead signed a new deal with Fiorentina.

De Gea slipped through the net for Monaco, but they now have a chance to sign his former United teammate Pogba as he gears up for a return to football.
