‘Negotiations continue’ after Bournemouth make first offer – €15-20m expected to do it

Milos Kerkez is likely to leave AFC Bournemouth this summer, and the Premier League club have identified Stade Rennais’ Adrien Truffert as the candidate to replace him.

The Cherries have already taken steps to try and sign Truffert. On Tuesday, Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna reported the Ligue 1 club have rejected Bournemouth’s first official bid for the left-back.

Aouna didn’t provide details of the fee proposed by Bournemouth or the French club’s request for the 23-year-old.

L’Equipe echo the journalist’s claim and then provide more on the English club’s pursuit of the fullback.

Bournemouth have identified the Belgium-born France international as their main left-back target. He has just over a year left on his contract and despite Stade Rennais’ efforts, Truffert isn’t willing to sign an extension.

That’s because the fullback is aware of the interest he’s attracting and could change clubs this summer. He would like to move to England where Andoni Iraola’s side have been the most persistent suitor.

L’Equipe state Bournemouth’s initial offer was €12m plus bonuses. Stade Rennais rejected that, but the report states ‘negotiations continue’.

They further add the Cherries are expected to formalise an improved offer shortly and the operation is expected to be completed at somewhere around €15-20m.
