Arsenal have opened talks with Bayern Munich forward Leroy Sane’s representatives over a potential summer move, journalist Christian Falk has revealed.
The Gunners have reportedly approached Sane’s agent, Pini Zahavi, ahead of the Germany international’s contract expiry this month, as he looks increasingly likely to leave Bayern on a free transfer.
While Sane has held discussions with Bayern over an extension, the chances of him staying in Munich are said to be ‘slim’, with the winger keen on a return to the Premier League.
Sane, who currently earns £325,000 per week, spent four years at Manchester City and won two league titles before joining Bayern in the summer of 2020.

According to Falk, Sane would be open to a move to a London club as he wants to remain close to his family after five years in Germany.
Both Arsenal and Tottenham are believed to have shown strong interest in the ‘world-class’ German forward, but there is now a growing feeling that the Gunners could hijack Spurs' pursuit of the 29-year-old.
Sane has been a regular under Vincent Kompany at Bayern this season, scoring 13 goals and providing six assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.
He ended the Bundesliga campaign in strong form, registering seven goal contributions in his final nine appearances.
Arsenal are expected to sign a new winger this summer and have reportedly earmarked Real Madrid star Rodrygo as another option.
According to reports, the Gunners have held behind-the-scenes talks over a move for the Brazilian and have been made aware of his hefty wage demands.
