Last summer, Arsenal allowed Albert Sambi Lokonga to join Sevilla on a loan deal with an option to buy.
The midfielder played 1,564 minutes from 23 games for the La Liga club. His playing time was mainly restricted due to a hamstring injury that bothered him several times during the campaign.
Wednesday’s edition of [AS](http://as.com/) has published an interview with the Arsenal player and they asked him about his injuries.
_“It’s been a season with a lot of bad luck. I’ve done everything possible to be ready and prepared,”_ he said.
The newspaper immediately asked whether working on the physical recovery or the mental aspect of not playing football is more difficult.
Responding to that, Albert Sambi Lokonga explained: _“I think it’s harder mentally. There have been four or five injuries this year.”_
The 25-year-old has travelled to Qatar to work on his recovery. On this trip, he added: _“I’ve done more specific work to find out what’s wrong with my hamstring. What areas I need to work on. I can’t tell you everything, but it’s the reason I went.”_
The Belgium international had earlier expressed his desire to extend his stay at Sevilla. If it were up to him, the former Anderlecht man would stay at the Spanish club. He has a year left on his contract with the Gunners and is unclear where he’ll play next season.
_“I don’t know what my future holds. But if Sevilla can, I want to stay here. There are many things I can’t decide. I have a one-year contract with Arsenal, and all options are open,”_ the Belgian said.
_“I’ve said it often. I want to defend this badge. Now there are many things coming up that I can’t choose. The situation with Arsenal, the money Arsenal is going to ask for, Sevilla’s situation and whether they can pay Arsenal, my contract… There are many things I can’t decide anymore.”_
