Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Liverpool are closing in on a deal with Bournemouth for Milos Kerkez.

This comes after personal terms were agreed last week.

Liverpool’s sporting director, Richard Hughes – who was responsible for bringing Milos Kerkez to Bournemouth in 2023 – is at the forefront of negotiations for the defender’s move to Anfield.

Signing Kerkez would strengthen Liverpool’s long-term options at left-back, increasing competition for Andy Robertson and casting doubt over the future of Kostas Tsimikas, whose role at the club is now not clear.

Jamie Carragher believes the Greek international will be moved on this summer.

The Cherries have reportedly set their asking price at £45 million for Kerkez, who remains under contract until 2028.

Bournemouth’s negotiating position has been strengthened by their recent sale of Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid for £50 million, which has removed immediate financial pressure to sell on the cheap.

It is a big fee for a fullback, but showcases the premium that Premier League clubs now command for their top talents.

Kerkez’s performances throughout the 2024-25 season have justified Bournemouth’s valuation, with the defender establishing himself as one of the league’s most impressive young left-backs.

Now Taking to X, Fabrizio Romano has reported that Liverpool and Bournemouth are in the final steps before Kerkez is in a red shirt:

“Liverpool are prepared to seal Milos Kerkez deal with one more round of talks to get it over the line!”

“Bournemouth and Liverpool are finalizing the agreement after personal terms in place last week.”

“Here we go, soon”

The combination of agreed personal terms, the player’s evident desire to join the club, and Liverpool’s advanced negotiations positions them favorably to secure the Hungarian’s signature.
