It is an incredibly busy time with regards to AC Milan’s transfer business, and Mike Maignan could be heading out of the exit door.
The big news on Wednesday morning is that Manchester City have agreed a €70m deal to sign Tijjani Reijnders from Milan. However, it is highly likely that he will not be the only ‘big name’ to leave before 2025-26.
Rumours erupted on Tuesday stating that Maignan is in the sights of Premier League clubs, above all Chelsea, amid the career crossroads that has arrived given he has just one year left on his deal.
Maignan out, Milinkovic-Savic in?
During the live broadcast on the YouTube channel ‘Fabrizio Romano in Italiano’ (via MilanNews), Matteo Moretto and Romano shared the latest on Chelsea ‘s strong interest in the Frenchman.
Romano began by saying: “Chelsea are preparing an offer for Maignan, we’ll see in the next few days. Chelsea haven’t closed the door on the goalkeeper. Maresca wants him and can take advantage of the contractual situation, given that his contract expires in 2026.”

Moretto then added that Milan, having understood the situation, have started to sound out a few goalkeepers. One of the names, but certainly not the only one, is that of Vanja Milinkovic-Savic of Torino, who has a release clause of €20m.
Speaking on Sky last night (via MilanNews), Gianluca Di Marzio added: “It’s true, Chelsea have thought about Maignan. Milan’s first response was: ‘We want 30 million euros’.
“Let’s remember that Maignan’s contract expires in a year and has not been renewed, we’ll see if Chelsea will push themselves to reach this figure requested by Milan.”
