Federico Chiesa has hinted at a potential move back to Italy. He is keeping doors open for a AC Milan or Juventus reunion.
Struggles at Anfield Could Push Federico Chiesa Towards the Exit
Federico Chiesa’s time at Liverpool has been anything but smooth since his move from Juventus last summer. The Premier League side signed the Italian winger for £12.5 million. Due to injuries and limited availability he has yet to really settle in Anfield.
The 27-year-old has only made six appearances in his debut Premier League season. And he is yet to prove why the Reds took a chance on him. As Arne Slot begins reshaping his attack, it’s unclear whether the Italian has a place in the new setup.
Although, he’s likely to join for pre-season on July 8. Now, it depends on whether he can impress the new boss. If not, a loan move or even a permanent transfer could be on the cards. Despite his limited time on the pitch, he remains a fan favorite. His name is often sung around Anfield, showing the support he still enjoys on Merseyside.
Milan and Juventus Keep Tabs as Chiesa Eyes Italy Return
While Chiesa’s Liverpool future hangs in the balance, interest from Italy is growing. AC Milan appear to be monitoring the forward. And the winger has not ruled out a return to his previous club, Juventus either.
Meanwhile, Napoli and Atletico Madrid are also keeping tabs. The Italian forward is a hot property despite his injury sick year. Chiesa looks most likely to head out through a loan deal unless he has a great pre-season. But, with the PL title holders being a strong deal, they might consider a deal on a permanent transfer with a strong offer.
Either way, it is quite clear that Chiesa has decisions to make.
