**West ham Transfer Exclusive**
West Ham are open to offers for midfielder Andy Irving, [Claret & Hugh](https://www.claretandhugh.info/category/news/) can reveal today.
The Scottish midfielder gave an interview last week suggesting he would evaluate his options this summer. However, it now appears things have progressed further than that.
Considering West Ham’s lacklustre midfield performances last season, Irving would have every right to feel he hasn’t had a fair chance to impress. But unfortunately for the former Klagenfurt player, he’s unlikely to get many chances next season — and at 25, he needs regular first-team football.
Sources at the top of the club have hinted that Freddie Potts will leapfrog Irving in the pecking order when he returns for pre-season training. The Hammers remain very much in the hunt for at least two new midfield acquisitions, which would leave Irving in much the same position as last season.
It’s a shame for a player who clearly has talent, impressive long-range shooting ability, and has endeared himself to West Ham fans. But the reality is, he couldn’t force his way into what many would consider one of the poorest Irons midfields in recent years — and it’s clear he’s not part of Graham Potter’s long-term plans.
West Ham have yet to receive any concrete offers for the player… yet.
