Aleksandar Mitrovic would need to take a significant cut on his current wages to facilitate a return to the Premier League from Al-Hilal.
The Serbian striker is free to leave Al-Hilal after two seasons and enquiries have been made from AC Milan and Premier League clubs. However, the 30-year-old’s salary of €15m-per-season is an issue for the striker’s suitors.
Mitrovic joined Al-Hilal from Fulham for a fee that could reach £50m in 2023 and has since scored 68 goals in 79 games across all competitions.

He helped Al-Hilal to a Saudi Pro League and King’s Cup double in his debut season but is an option to be offloaded as the club prepare for a new era under Simone Inzaghi.
‘Concrete interest’ in Aleksandar Mitrovic from Premier League clubs
Mitrovic been named as a potential shock option for Manchester United as the Red Devils seek an experienced number nine.
There is also rival interest from across the Premier League, with Mitrovic having scored 111 goals in 206 games during his five-and-a-half year spell at Fulham.
Transfer journalist Ben Jacobs has confirmed there is ‘concrete interest’ in Mitrovic from England but his wages are seen as problematic. A huge drop in his demands, or a loan move with Al-Hilal covering a large part of his salary, would be required to seal a transfer.
Mitrovic is currently with the Serbia squad ahead of World Cup qualifiers with Albania and Andorra this month. He will reach 100 caps if he features in both fixtures.
