Bruno Fernandes has labelled Rafael Leao an ‘enormous talent’ and a player who can give the Portuguese national team ‘something extra’.
Leao ended up amassing 13 goals and 12 assists across all competitions for Milan last season in what was a rollercoaster campaign. For the first time in his six years with the Rossoneri there were times when he wasn’t a guaranteed starter under both Paulo Fonseca and Sergio Conceicao.
Nonetheless, there is a reason that he continues to be linked with some of the top clubs around Europe. In the past 48 hours there have been multiple reports about Bayern Munich’s interest, however it seems that Igli Tare and Massimiliano Allegri want to build a new era around him.
Bruno sings Leao’s praises
Bruno Fernandes – who currently plays for Manchester United and Portugal – spoke to the microphones of Sky Sport about Leao, his teammate in the national team.
“I met him as a kid at Sporting Lisbon, he came up to the first team with me. He is a boy with an enormous talent that we all hope will become stronger every time because we know how much talent he has. He has had his moments, but I still believe that he is a phenomenal player who can give us something more,” he said (via MilanPress).
