Harvey Elliott is most likely to join a Serie A club if he leaves Liverpool this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The midfielder rejected a potential move to Nottingham Forest last week, but sources suggest there is a growing likelihood he will exit Anfield over the coming months.
It is believed Elliott turned down a move to Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side as they do not suit his playing style.
However, Liverpool’s coaches are said to believe the 22-year-old lacks the intensity off the ball required to fit into their playing style on a regular basis and be a nailed-on starter.
Sources say Elliott’s game would be better suited to Serie A, and there is believed to be early interest from two leading Italian clubs.
Clubs in Germany’s Bundesliga are also understood to be monitoring the left-footed star’s situation.

As a result, Elliott could be the victim of their aggressive transfer strategy this summer, with further reinforcements casting doubt over his Anfield future.
As potential suitors make their interest known, it is believed Elliott would prefer to move to a more possession-based team where he can express his creative talents.

Liverpool see Milos Kerkez as Andy Robertson’s long-term successor
While Liverpool’s recruitment team moved early to secure the signing of right-back Frimpong, their focus has now shifted to the other flank as they look for a long-term successor to Andy Robertson.
Football Insider revealed that Liverpool are ready to match Bournemouth’s £45million valuation for Milos Kerkez as the Hungarian left-back continues to attract top-level interest.
Kerkez is eager to leave the Cherries, having expressed his desire to move on in private, and Liverpool see him as a key part of Slot’s rebuilding plans.
