Cody Gakpo’s agents are talking to Bayern Munich after holding an initial exchange three weeks ago, hoping for a reaction from Liverpool.
That’s [according to SportBILD](https://sportbild.bild.de/), who report that Gakpo is very much on the list at Bayern this summer as they look to move on quickly from the disappointment of not signing Florian Wirtz.
The newspaper explains that the German champions have turned their attention to signing a winger and have several on their list.
Liverpool forward Gakpo is one of them and an initial exchange took place with his management three weeks ago. Several different players, including the Dutchman, were discussed in those talks.
Gakpo, for his part, can imagine extending his stay at Liverpool. His current deal runs until 2028, but he would like an improvement. The talks with Bayern are very much seen as a tool to perhaps get Liverpool talking.
If he didn’t get a new deal from the Reds, though, he would seemingly be more open to moving to Bayern. They like him because he can play as a winger or a centre-forward.
Much will depend on Leroy Sané. If he extends his current deal, Bayern are unlikely to move. If he doesn’t and is then sold, Gakpo could very well be the man they move for.
