Algerian left-back Rayan Aït-Nouri is a high priority on Manchester City’s transfer wish list, according to the BBC.
The Wolverhampton Wanderers defender played 37 games for his club in the Premier League this season, scoring four goals and providing seven assists.
Manchester City have struggled for consistency at the left-back position since the departure of Benjamin Menday, who last played for the club in 2021. Since then, Oleksander Zinchenko, João Cancelo, Jasko Gvardiol and Man City academy product Nico O’Reilly have been utilised by manager Pep Guardiola with mixed results.
With his ability on both sides of the ball, the Algerian could provide the solution to Guardiola’s perceived issues at left-back.
Man City will have to secure Aït-Nouri’s signature before 10 June if he is to represent the club at the FIFA Club World Cup.
After making his debut for his nation in 2023, Aït-Nouri has been named in the Algerian squad for their upcoming international friendlies against Rwanda and 5 June and Sweden on 10 June.
