Graham Potter has a sizeable task on his hands this summer as he looks to turn things around at West Ham United.

After coming in as Julen Lopetegui’s replacement, the Englishman has struggled to get things going in East London so far.

However, this summer will be the Englishman’s first proper transfer window, allowing for the opportunity to put his own stamp on the team in the hope of a better season next term.

There is plenty of work to be done and David Sullivan must be prepared to show the right level of backing to push the Hammers forward.

Ally McCoist moots Aaron Ramsdale signing at West Ham

One area where West Ham are looking to strengthen this summer is between the sticks.

After a long stay in East London, the Irons announced the exit of Lukasz Fabianski from the London Stadium at the end of his contract.

Alphonse Areola is the remaining option in goal, but at 32 years old, Potter is looking to bring some fresh blood into the fold.

One man who has been linked as a possible replacement is Aaron Ramsdale, following Southampton’s relegation to the Championship.

The Saints are willing to let him go in order to reduce their wage bill, while Potter is said to be an admirer of Ramsdale.

When asked about the potential transfer live on talkSPORT (4 June) during a segment called ‘Transfer Tinder’, Ally McCoist admitted he was a fan of the move as he said: “Yes. I’m with you on that one. I think that’s a swipe right for me, all day.”

Ramsdale would be solid option for West Ham

Ramsdale would surely be an upgrade on Areola at West Ham this summer and it’s a transfer worth pursuing for the Hammers.

Although the 27-year-old goalkeeper has suffered relegation once more, he has also proven his ability at the top of the Premier League and was unlucky to fall out of favour at Arsenal the way he did.

Ramsdale wants to return to his best form once more.

Furthermore, surrounded by worse payers this season in a side that was adamant on playing in a way that left them exposed at the back, it was always going to be difficult for Ramsdale to prove what he could do.

However, in more stable set up at the London Stadium, this would surely be a good match that allows the goalkeeper to get back to his better levels.
