Chelsea are one of the clubs in the picture to sign Villarreal’s Karl Etta Eyong this summer, according to Africa Foot.
The 21-year-old striker initially joined the La Liga club’s reserve team from Cádiz CF towards the end of last summer. He starred for Villarreal B, scoring 19 goals and registering six assists from 30 games.
Karl Etta Eyong’s rapid rise helped him make his debut for the senior team in April. He’s played 33 minutes from four games and managed to score a goal in the process. Chelsea have taken notice of his impressive season.
As well as the Blues, his performances have attracted interest from Toulouse, Getafe and CD Leganés. The report, however, states the UEFA Conference League winners are the ‘first to make an official offer’ to the frontman.
Enzo Maresca’s side have offered the Cameroonian a five-year contract with a path to continue his development. They want to send him on loan next season to RC Strasbourg, a club owned by BlueCo.
His contract at Villarreal lasts until 2027, and Transfermarkt value him at €5m. The report hasn’t mentioned whether Chelsea have made an offer to the Yellow Submarine or whether they are willing to sell Karl Etta Eyong.
