Reports out of OTAs were that the Jordan Love to Matthew Golden connection was on fire yesterday. They are fast developing a special connection. Romeo Doubs called Golden "a stud" I like the sound of all of this.
Kenny Clark confirmed in an interview what most people assumed, that he played through a toe/foot injury for all of the 2024 season after getting hurt in the first game against the Eagles in Brazil. Clark had surgery in January and is just now getting back to doing individual drills with the team. This adds a little context to Clark's disappointing lack of production in 2024 and serves as a warning to us all - we really don't know what level of hurt these players are going through. Especially with the extremely tight-lipped and secretive Packers who would much prefer to never have to say say anything to anyone. Oh, and did I mention that Clark suffered the injury on a "tush push?" No surprise the Packers coaches don't like the tush push, is it?:
Lukas Van Ness was spotted at OTAs taking some snaps as an interior pass rusher. Almost identical in size and height to Za'Darius Smith, perhaps the Packers may try to recapture some of the success Smith had rushing in between the tackles. There isn't much I've seen from LVN so far that gives me confidence this could work, but he has the power and quickness for the job and LaFleur says LVN has come in with a higher level of confidence. An emphasis from new DL coach Demarcus Covington has been getting off the ball faster, and that is something LVN has the ability to do, so maybe LVN will surprise me.
So Jayden Reed has been working with a JUGS machine every day this season in an attempt to eliminate the issue he had with drops (10 last season). Do they have Wicks (who had a drop in 11v11s on Tuesday) doing the same thing? Asking for a friend...
(Not OTA Related): There was a funny article in yesterdays Wall Street Journal (funny to this polluted mind, anyway) titled "So you took ayahuasca. The therapist will see you now." Evidently, there is now a cadre of licensed psychologists in the Silicon Valley area who specialize in "psychedelic integration." They counsel techies looking to ayahuasca and other psychedelics to deal with the pressure and stress of their jobs. The therapists help them evaluate what they experienced on these "trips" and help them navigate their "integration" back into the real world. There is only mention of helping Silicon Valley technical workers, but why couldn't this also apply to people in other walks of life, maybe even NFL quarterbacks? Also, is there some branch of Psychology that deals with polluted mindsets? Important questions...
MarShawn Lloyd stepped onto the field, ran some drills and did not get hurt. Don't believe me? Some evidence:
