France legend Zinedine Zidane has been linked with some of the to management jobs in the world after his successful spell with Real Madrid after hanging up his boots.
After retiring in the Spanish capital back in 2006, Zidane re-joined the side in 2010 as an advisor before becoming their sporting director in 2011.
However, the former midfielder decided he wanted to be closer to the action, managing the Under-17s side before becoming the senior team’s assistant manager in 2013.
Zidane is one of only a few managers to have taken the hotpot at Real Madrid, firstly between 2016 and 2018, and then again only a year later from 2019 to 2021.
In this time Zizou won three Champions Leagues, two FIFA Club World Cups, two LaLiga trophies, two Spanish Supercups and Two UEFA Supercups, showing off his strong ability to lead a team.
However, since leaving, Zidane hasn’t stepped foot back into management whilst he waits for the France national team job, despite significant interest.

Zinedine Zidane only wants the France national team job
The legendary midfielder has been recently been linked to Saudi Arabia, however his former France teammate has revealed new information to show that not even the money of Saudi Arabia could lure Zizou.
Speaking to Oddspedia, former France international Marcel Desailly commented: “Will Zinedine Zidane be tempted by Saudi Arabia? Well he had a blank cheque on the table from Chelsea and a blank cheque from Manchester United and turned them down – he isn’t in it for the money.”
He continued: “He likes to travel and always keeps an eye on the France national team. He’s ready because Didier Deschamps has started the transition. France will be one of the favourites for the World Cup and win or lose it’s not the end of this era for France.
“There is a squad and a philosophy and Zidane will know how to take that on to rebuild his own team. For another eight years at least France will be at the top level in Europe.”
This new reveal, despite being focused on Zidane’s desire to manage the French national team does confirm prior reports that United were offering Zidane whatever he wanted to come to Old Trafford, which he ultimately rejected.
