Arsenal have identified Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres as a potential target this summer alongside Manchester United.
The Swedish international is one of the most prolific goal scorers in Europe after he managed to net 54 goals in 52 games for the Portuguese side this season, more goals than the likes of Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.

Arsenal have been linked to the 27-year-old this summer alongside Premier League rivals Manchester United, however, it is unclear yet as to which club the striker would rather move to.
The Gunners can provide Champions League football and Premier League contention, but United can offer a chance for Gyokeres to reunite with former Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim.
Gyokeres reveals surprising transfer hint
The Swedish striker’s saga took an unexpected turn in recent days as he hinted at the possibility of staying at Sporting CP this summer rather than moving to the Premier League.
Gyokeres said in an interview with Vogue Scandanavia via Portuguese outlet A Bola that he is enjoying his life and the culture in Portugal, potentially hinting at his desire to stay in Lisbon beyond the summer.
He said: “In Swedish culture, people work hard during the week and if they want to do something, they do it on the weekend. Here, people also make the most of the weekdays. They come over with friends on Monday or any other day of the week, have dinner and a glass of wine.
“In Sweden, that’s rare. That’s the big difference. Lisbon is one of the best cities in Europe… I feel at home.”
Saying that he feels ‘at home’ in Lisbon will come as somewhat of a red flag for the Gunners, as that is a sure hint that Gyokeres would be more than happy to stay put this summer, despite all the interest in him.
Gyokeres update may help Arsenal to make Sesko decision
In recent days, RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko has emerged as Arsenal’s most likely target, as they are reportedly in talks with the German club over what sort of fee the Slovenian would command.
Sesko would reportedly cost around £70m, which is around £10m more than reports have said that Gyokeres would cost.
The Leipzig striker netted 21 goals in all competitions last season, and aged 22, is considerably younger than Gyokeres.
