Luis Diaz and his Liverpool future as become a point of discussion both amongst the fanbase and in the media.
It seems every time a transfer window rolls round; Luis Diaz is linked to Barcelona and Saudi Arabia.
Despite the ever presence of the 28-year-old in the side this season, Fabrizio Romano has linked the winger away from Anfield – with sustained interest from Al Nassr and other Saudi clubs reportedly prepared to test Liverpool’s resolve this summer.
It has been touted that Al-Nassr have emerged as serious contenders, receiving central approval from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund to submit a €85 million bid.
The Riyadh-based club views Díaz as a marquee signing to retain Cristiano Ronaldo’s interest and elevate their global profile
However, Paul Joyce has come out to reveal that reports of interest in the Colombian may have been premature.
Writing for the Times, Paul Joyce has confirmed that the Anfield club have not received any explicit expressions of interest for the 28-year-old – nor are they looking to move him on:
“Liverpool have received no expressions of interest in Luis Diaz and are not actively looking to sell the Colombia forward.”
“Liverpool are understood to be perplexed by the noise once again surrounding Diaz, who became a valuable player for Arne Slot with his ability to play through the middle and on the left flank, resulting in 17 goals in 50 appearances.”
Speaking to reporters after the title clinch win after Tottenham in April, he did not speak like someone who is planning to leave Anfield
“It’s a source of pride to see the fans of Liverpool, one of England’s great clubs, sing for you like that, support you like that,” he said.
“It is what I’ve always worked for,” Diaz explained.
“That’s what I want for my career, to always be remembered for my game, to leave my mark on Liverpool.”
“We’ll keep working this way so they feel comfortable and keep singing and cheering on the team, which is the most important thing.”
