The Premier League season may have only just concluded, but it's evident that reigning champions Liverpool and other top-tier clubs are already adding to their squads in the transfer market for the 2025-26 campaign.
Liverpool clinched the trophy a mere 10 days ago amidst jubilant scenes at Anfield, having outperformed Arsenal and Manchester City to secure a 20th league title in impressive fashion.
Since then, the Reds have acquired Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong, initiated discussions with his colleague Florian Wirtz over a potential transfer that would shatter the British transfer record, and reportedly intensified their pursuit of Bournemouth left back Milos Kerkez.
In contrast, Arsenal is working towards securing a deal for former Liverpool midfield target Martin Zubimendi and is reportedly deliberating between strikers Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko.
After losing out on Wirtz to Liverpool, Manchester City is ramping up their efforts to sign Lyon's Rayan Cherki, AC Milan's Tijjani Reijnders and Wolves' Rayan Ait Nouri.
Chelsea is set to sign Liam Delap from Ipswich Town and also has its sights set on AC Milan's Mike Maignan, while Manchester United, once a dominant force, has forked out for Matheus Cunha from Wolves and may need to match that figure to secure Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.
United is making waves in the transfer market as a direct counter to a 15th-placed indignity in the Premier League and a subdued defeat in the Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur.
Arne Slot

Their disappointing finish was miles off from Gary Neville's forecast. The ex-Manchester United stalwart had pegged his former team for third, sitting behind Manchester City and champions Arsenal but ahead of Tottenham Hotspur, who despite a shocking 17th place finish managed to grab Champions League football by outplaying Neville's old club in the Europa League final.
Neville later owned up to his blunder in predicting that Liverpool wouldn't make the top four. Throughout much of the season, he stood firm on his belief that Arsenal would snatch the title from Liverpool.
Yet this prediction also fell flat as Arne Slot's squad finished the season with a substantial 10-point lead over Mikel Arteta's side, despite Liverpool drawing two and losing two of their last four matches after securing the title.
On the latest episode of the It's Called Soccer podcast at US Overlap channel, questioned about the 2025-26 Premier League title holder, he retorted: "I've got to go Arsenal again, I've got to double down, haven't I? I've gone there the last two seasons and Arsenal finished second in the last three seasons, actually.
"I didn't back it the first season, I backed City, but I backed Arsenal the last two and I'm going to stick with it."

Neville also shared his thoughts on Liverpool's transfer strategy during the podcast. He pondered: "I think when you're talking about winning the league, what is it that improves you?"
"I mean, the only thing that's going to improve you when you win the league is signing world-class players, or players that have got the potential to be world-class players. So signing Wirtz is fantastic.
"Frimpong and then there's talk of Kerkez as well, deals with their right and left-back situations. So to get those three done, if they were to get those three done quite quickly, would be smart business. But I wouldn't have expected anything else from Liverpool."
An air of anticipation surrounds Liverpool and fellow Premier League clubs, with the 2025-26 fixtures set to be revealed in two weeks on Wednesday, June 18.
