The Boston Celtics could explore a blockbuster trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo, which might include Kristaps Porzingis, Derrick White, and multiple first-round picks.
The Boston Celtics are expected to shake up their roster this offseason, and Giannis Antetokounmpo might be a major target.

There is a chance that the Celtics could put together a huge package for Greek Freak, and Ryan Stand of Sports Illustrated detailed this hypothetical offer in his recent piece.
To make such a move possible, Boston would likely need to include Kristaps Porzingis in the deal, and adding Derrick White could increase the Milwaukee Bucks' willingness to consider the offer. Together, those two salaries total around $58.9 million.
Antetokounmpo is set to earn $57.6 million next season, but because the Celtics are a second-apron team, the salaries involved in any trade must match almost exactly.
That means the Bucks would need to include additional salary, possibly players like Chris Livingston and rookie Tyler Smith, to make the math work.
Milwaukee would also want draft compensation in return. The Celtics would likely have to include at least two first-round picks to sweeten the deal. A third team could also get involved to help balance the trade.

However, there's another wrinkle: the Bucks may be reluctant to trade with the Celtics after Boston landed Jrue Holiday from them. Holiday played a key role in helping the Celtics win the 2024 NBA title.
Giannis, meanwhile, has spent all 12 seasons of his career with Milwaukee and is under contract through the 2026–27 season, with a $62 million player option for 2027–28.
His contract does not include a no-trade clause.
