Jorginho is out of contract at the end of this month after he and Arsenal decided it was best to part ways.

The midfielder is set to join Flamengo and they want to sign him before the Club World Cup starts in a fortnight.

A transfer window opened on June 1 and runs for 10 days so that clubs can sign and register players before the tournament in the USA on June 15.

Jorginho joined Arsenal from Chelsea in a £12m deal in 2023

Arsenal and Flamengo are in advanced talks over an agreement for Jorginho to join the Brazilian club before his contract with the Gunners expires on June 30.

Liverpool and Real Madrid struck a similar agreement with Trent Alexander-Arnold so he could play in the Club World Cup.

Real Madrid paid Liverpool over £8million to sign Alexander-Arnold early. It is unclear how much Arsenal will receive, but a deal is expected to go through before June 10.
