Two sports personalities who are clashing over coverage of former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick and his girlfriend Jordon Hudson are reportedly set to face off to discuss the matter.
On Tuesday’s episode of “The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz,” Le Batard said sports journalist Pablo Torre will appear on Bill Simmons’ podcast in the near future.
Torre and Simmons were engaged in a war of words that started on a May 27 episode of Simmons’ podcast “The Rewatchables,” when Simmons took a shot at Torre while discussing the movie “Heaven Can Wait,” making fun of the way Torre was covering the Belichick-Hudson relationship through his “Pablo Torre Finds Out” podcast.
“Pablo Torre would have done a long podcast about Leo Farnsworth trying to practice with the team and then would have done a media tour afterwards,” Simmons told his podcast co-hosts Chris Ryan and Van Lathan. “I’ve never seen anyone dine on a stupider story for a week and a half while pretending you’re a journalist. What the (expletive) was that? Seriously. Belichick’s dating a girl, let me do nine shows about it. Sit the (expletive) down... You don’t need to do a media tour about a (expletive) podcast... maybe do two shows.”
Torre caught wind of the comments and issued a challenge to Simmons, stating he wanted to speak to him.
“Dear @BillSimmons: Since you have such a strong public opinion about my work... I happen to have a few questions for you, specifically,” Torre said on X, replying to an Awful Announcing post that focused on Simmons’ comments about him. “Unless you’re afraid of @pablofindsout and someone just ‘pretending to be a journalist,’ of course. Thanks, Pablo”
At the time of this post’s publication, the release date of the Simmons-Torre faceoff is not yet known.
