Arsenal have officially said goodbye to Kieran Tierney this Wednesday afternoon, releasing a heartfelt tribute as the left-back closes the book on his North London chapter.
With his future pointing back to Glasgow, the Gunners’ parting message brings his Emirates spell to a fitting end.
Tierney joined Arsenal from Celtic in 2019 for £25 million, making an immediate impression on the fanbase with his professionalism and commitment. While he was a favourite among the support, the same couldn’t quite be said of his standing with manager Mikel Arteta.
Signed under Unai Emery, Tierney found himself sidelined in Arteta’s long-term plans, eventually heading out on loan to Real Sociedad. His departure now signals the end of an often frustrating, yet undeniably passionate stint in England.
Arsenal paid tribute with a social media video looking back on his time in red and white, celebrating his contributions and character. The fans have responded warmly, echoing the club’s sentiments and showing nothing but respect for the Scotland international.

Speaking as he departed, Tierney said: “Just thank you for everything from day one. They supported us through the good times and the bad, and they supported me through some hard times as well.
“I think that’s what I’m most grateful for, the times where it wasn’t so good or so easy for me is when they probably supported me most, so I’m just very grateful and I feel very lucky to have the support from them.

“I feel so lucky that I’ve played for this club and the love that the supporters have given me has been amazing. I’ve loved every day here and I’ve learned so much, I’ve improved so much and I just feel very lucky.”
The stage is now set for a return to his boyhood club, with Celtic fans already buzzing at the prospect.
Celtic confirmed the players return on a pre-contract agreement in a financial statement to stake holders but have been silent on social media channels.
