It won’t be too long until Kieran Tierney is a Celtic player again.
Tierney’s Arsenal journey is about to come to an end on June 30, and it has typically been one with lots of highs and lows.
The 27-year-old moved to London from Glasgow in 2019 and proceeded to win the FA Cup, but injuries derailed his progression.
Despite Tierney being a fan favourite, his game time at the Emirates reduced during his final years, including during the recently concluded season, which saw Arsenal finish second in the Premier League and reach the semi-finals of the Champions League.
But Celtic are set to gain from this because Tierney will return in the summer on a free transfer, and now Arsenal have put out a statement on Wednesday afternoon.

What Arsenal have said ahead of Kieran Tierney’s Celtic return
It’s that time of year when clubs are confirming their retained and released list of players following the conclusion of the 2024/25 season.
Celtic shared their own news that goalkeeper Scott Bain has left, and Arsenal have done the same with Tierney, alongside a handful of other young and old stars.
This is what Arsenal had to say on their official website after they confirmed the 20 players who will depart their club this summer.
MORE CELTIC STORIES

‘We thank all the players leaving us for their contributions to the club. You will always be part of the Arsenal family and we wish you all the best of health and happiness in your futures’.
Always a part of The Arsenal ❤️

Tierney’s numbers at Arsenal before he re-joins Celtic
The positive news for the Celtic Park faithful is the fact that Tierney has been injury-free since December.
Despite that, Mikel Arteta has continued to use him from the bench, including not coming onto the field of play at times.
But it was fitting that Tierney scored in his final game for Arsenal, and this is how his career at the club looks overall.
