Aaron Glenn and Jets See Improvements in OTAs

FLORHAM PARK - The New York Jets are finishing the final practices of OTAs under head coach Aaron Glenn.

As things usually go, the Jets are not a finished product. That is what happens when a new coach brings in a brand new system to both sides of the ball. The good news for New York is that the team is well on their way.

And there's one reason why Glenn remains encouraged by what his team has shown.

"Our competes are starting to get at a level that a coach would want it to be at," Glenn explained at OTAs Tuesday afternoon. "Now, is it there yet the way it needs to be in totality? No, but you start to see it climb, and that's been every day consistent as we've been going through OTAs."

It has been a transformative offseason for the Jets. They replaced their front office, coaching staff, quarterback, and philosophy. Competition wins the day in Florham Park.

A big part of that is the leadership of Glenn. He knows what it takes to end New York's 14-year playoff drought.

And it all comes down to developing a competitive environment in-house.

"You could have all the talent in the world, but if the competes aren't there, you're not winning games," Glenn explained. "So, I want to make sure as much as possible that we coach that, and our players understand that, and they do, and you see it out there on the field."

Time will tell if Glenn's system for the locker room works out. So far, though, it seems that the players are taking well to their new coaching staff.
