There’s a claim in the Turkish media Aston Villa have stepped up their pursuit for Fenerbahce forward Youssef En-Nesyri.

The Morocco international has been linked with the Premier League side in recent weeks as they look to strengthen their attack ahead of next season.

[Milliyet](https://www.milliyet.com.tr/skorer/fenerbahcenin-yildiz-ismine-premier-ligden-talip-cikti-7384408) today report on the latest developments regarding Aston Villa interest in En-Nesyri and they say the Premier League side could be ready to table an offer for him.

It’s claimed that in the coming days Villa may send an offer to Fenerbahce as the attacker looks to leave this summer. There are no reports regarding what the English side are prepared to pay for the Moroccan.

Despite impressing since his arrival from Sevilla last summer, En-Nesyri has come in for criticism with the Fenerbahce fans. Subsequently the 28-year-old is keen to find a new club ahead of next season.

West Ham United have also been linked with the player in recent weeks following reports they scouting him when Fenerbahce played Rangers in this season’s Europe League. The Hammers were keen to sign him last summer before his move to Istanbul.

Monchi signed En-Nesyri for Sevilla in 2020 and he went on to win the Europa League twice. Despite repeat transfer attempts for the player, Monchi always persuaded him to stay and it was only after the Spaniard’s move to Aston Villa that a sale happened, with Fenerbahce paying €19.5m.

En-Nesyri made 52 appearances under Mourinho this season, scoring 30 goals. He’s contracted to the Super Lig side until June 2029.
