Exclusive: 'Explosive' player has now decided to sign for a different club after holding talks with Man United

TBR Football can exclusively confirm the latest around Luis Henrique, a player who was wanted by the likes of Manchester United, Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest and Everton.

Manchester United, Newcastle, Nottingham Forest and Everton are all likely to strengthen their ranks this summer.

All four had been eyeing Luis Henrique, who has gone from strength to strength for Marseille over the past 18 months or so.

Henrique joined Marseille from Botafogo in 2020 but initially struggled in the south of France and even spent time back on loan in Brazil.

However, the last 18 months have seen Henrique thrive and he has been one of the star performers for Roberto De Zerbi, leading to Premier League interest.

Luis Henrique snubs Premier League interest as Inter Milan come calling

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that Henrique shunned interest from England ahead of agreeing a deal with Inter Milan.

The 23-year-old – who can play on either flank – has agreed terms on a move to the Champions League finalists and is set to move for just over £20million.

TBR Football can confirm that Man United, Newcastle, Nottingham Forest and Everton all asked about Henrique in recent weeks and were keen on exploring a deal.

United had him on their list to potentially fill their RWB role in the Amorim system, whilst the others saw him more as a pure wide player.

We are told Henrique was ‘intrigued’ with the prospect of a move to England but he was quick to accept Inter once they made their move.

The ‘outstanding’ Luis Henrique alternative who could soon join Manchester United

Henrique is a quality player who has been deemed ‘explosive’ and has been likened to Franck Ribery.

But while Man United appear to have missed out on him, there’s another winger they’re reportedly making good progress over.

Man United appear to be making good progress over Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, who has made a name for himself as one of the Premier League’s best attackers.

Mbeumo is a player Alan Shearer once deemed ‘outstanding’ and his recent record in the Premier League speaks for itself – and that’s besides his 20 goals last season.

In terms of his tally of off-the-ball runs, Mbeumo was the only player to get into quadruple figures, registering 1,037 runs – almost 100 more than his nearest competitor.

Mbeumo also covered 387.6km in the league this season, putting him third behind Daniel Muñoz (389.5 km) and Bruno Guimaraes (420.0 km).

In addition, Mbeumo ranked third for total sprints (870), and he made the top spot for off-the-ball runs made at sprinting speed (389).
