Buffalo Bills' Joey Bosa Listed On ESPN 'Breakout or Flop Rankings

In examining one of the Buffalo Bills' biggest roster moves, ESPN's "breakout or flop'' list by Bill Barnwell seems to want it both ways.

On the one hand, the network writes, "If Bosa is going to succeed somewhere, the Bills are an ideal landing spot.''

"Ideal''? There is of course no such thing.

But relatively speaking, Bills Mafia will take it, in the hopes that the talented Bosa will sort of take the spot in the lineup that was supposed to be owned here by Von Miller.

So that's that? Hardly.

Barnwell adds of the five-time Pro Bowler, "It's just not clear whether we'll ever see that guy for 17 games again.''

Oh. That.

The Bills have former first-round pick Gregory Rousseau to carry a load as a pass rusher, and Pro Football Focus' ranking of the NFL's top 32 edge rushers has Rousseau placed at 14th on the list.

"Rousseau earned an 82.2 PFF grade in 2024, marking his third consecutive season with a grade of 80.0 or higher." they write. "In addition to matching his career high in the regular season, Smith also highlights Groot's two playoff sacks, calling 2024, "his most productive campaign to date."

But Buffalo added reinforcements along the defensive line for a reason. And with Bosa now expected to miss the rest of the spring with a calf injury - he's expected back for training camp in July - the Bills are going to have to deal with the same injury doubts that the Chargers once did.

"Breakout or Flop''? Unfortunately, Bosa and the Bills have no way to answer that yet.
