Manager drops £40m star from his squad after Everton rumours

David Moyes is looking to bolster his attacking ranks at Everton this summer transfer window.

The Everton boss has identified it as a weak area after the goals really began to dry up towards the latter stages of the season.

The Toffees are exploring a deal to sign Aleksandar Mitrovic, who could leave Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.

Liverpool’s Ben Doak is also emerging as a target for Moyes after his impressive season in the Championship with Middlesbrough.

David Ornstein has also tipped Jack Grealish to potentially join Everton, and now that transfer has just become a lot more real.

Jack Grealish to Everton becomes very possible

Everton have been heavily linked with a move for Jack Grealish as Moyes looks to add more creativity on the flanks.

Jordan Pickford shares the same agent as Jack Grealish, so there is a theory that he could convince him to make the switch to Goodison Park.

Now, that deal has taken a step closer, as Man City boss Pep Guardiola has just made a big call to leave him out of the Club World Cup squad, which takes place in the US later this month.

The former Aston Villa talisman is almost certain to leave and will now get additional time to negotiate his exit.

It’s been reported that City want £40m to sanction Grealish’s sale.

Grealish’s wages could be a stumbling block

Man City signed Grealish for a whopping £100m, which was a British record at the time, before Declan Rice to Arsenal beat it.

He was put on a substantial contract, thought to be worth around £300,000-a-week, according to Capology.

Everton’s highest earner takes home around £125,000, so the Friedkins would have to break the wage structure to do a deal.

That could be a potential stumbling block, but as a one-off, it may be sanctioned.
