If fans of Leicester City Football Club thought the pain ended with the Premier League season, they may need to think again. It appears that some highly rated and supposedly protected Foxes prospects emerging in the senior squad may still be targeted for transfers. Contracts were said to be on the way in reference to protection; new deals are yet to be agreed or announced at King Power Stadium.
One talented young Fox in particular is an apparent target for at least three huge clubs. And City could face the daunting task of fighting off a trio of superclubs in order to retain on of their most prominent promising assets. And you know teams such as Manchester City, Inter Milan and Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain can turn absolutely any player's head.
So how powerful are these sides that wish to prise away the East Midlands outfit's standout starlets? Will the lure of the big time with the biggest be too good to turn down? Or can LCFC withstand pressure from the outside and potentially the inside? And why do Man City, PSG and Inter believe they can sign the Leicester teenager in question for such a low fee?
Superclubs reportedly want to steal Leicester City's Jeremy Monga for relative pittance
To answer the first question: the Citizens and Paris are particularly prominent and influential at the moment. Inter are also a significant team with a great pull for professional footballers.
I can assure you that Monga will have read the rumoursand will be flattered. With no disrespect to LCFC, he will also possibly be considering what it would be like to play for one of the greatest sides in the world.
However Leicester is a brilliant club in its own right. Certainly one proficient in developing youth. And finally:
"Monga has a contract until 2025, and even if Leicester City want, they cannot offer him professional terms until he is 17. Even if was to sign a fresh deal, the Foxes cannot demand a big fee in the traditional sense, meaning, they are at risk of losing the prodigious teenager to one of the big clubs. Theoretically, they can keep Monga by signing a new deal as his current contract expires in the summer. However, they cannot prevent clubs from signing him for a compensation fee, although the Foxes can convince the player to stay put and ignore the interest from elsewhere."
