Leeds United are among several clubs looking to sign Abdoulaye Doucoure already this summer.
Daniel Farke is looking to add Premier League experience to his squad ahead of a tough survival battle in the top flight.
The Everton star is out of contract on 30 June and could be a perfect addition to the group at Thorp Arch, given his heroics with the Blues over the years.

Leeds to be blown out of the water for Doucoure
Doucoure has admirers at Elland Road, but is also attracting interest from Saudi Arabia.
A report from Africa Foot (27 May) claimed that the Mali international had received an offer of £4million-a-year from Al-Ettifaq, but was holding out for up to £8m.

Iconic commentator Ian Darke believes that the offer from the Gulf may be too good for the former Goodison Park star to turn down, as Leeds push for several new transfers.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, he said: “I don’t have conversations with that player, so I don’t know how his mind works.
“That Saudi offer at this stage of his career must look pretty enticing to him, I would say.
“He may be the kind of lad that wants to carry on playing in the Premier League for a season or two more before he cashes in and takes that offer.
“I think he would be a good signing for Leeds United, they need to make probably three or four signings of players with good, solid Premier League experience.”

Doucoure failure would be poor start to Leeds’ window
The two-cap international is exactly what Farke’s side needs, a player who can score and assist at the elite level.
The 32-year-old notched three goals and two assists for the Toffees this season and has been crucial in their relegation battles in the past.
The Whites are crying out for an upgrade on Brenden Aaronson, after an underwhelming campaign from the American attacking midfielder.
Doucoure would have been a great start to their business, but if they fail to secure him, Paraag Marathe and Co need to bounce back and give Farke the tools that he requires to keep the Peacocks in the promised land.
